A Drawing a Day

I continue to enjoy drawing and have committed to a drawing a day for the year. It's something I look forward to and notice that I am beginning to see the world differently. I'm looking more at lines and thinking about how to draw what I see.  This is a brand new experience for me.  I've already filled one sketchbook and today made myself a new one from a recycled game box. I cut the paper to size and then took the stack to Fed Ex Office to have it drilled and spiral bound. I made this book a little larger than the last...another attempt to push myself a bit further.  Note that this sketchbook includes a spinner!

I've been focusing on drawing things around the house since there are plenty of interesting things that provide opportunities for drawing.

Ottoman Stack

Key Keeper

Favorite Chair

Green Suitcase

Pillow Nest

I've set up a Tumblr at http://lorimarsha.tumblr.com/ if you're interested in following my project.

  1. What a fab sketchbook you made! That would surely encourage me to make sure I drew something each day because I'd want to use it. Love your drawings, too. I think your home would be a fun place to be with all the colors and patterns and wonderful little items. Keep up the great work...
    Peace to your heart, Sara
