Working working smiling smiling

I've been sew busy since I last posted. That's how creativity works for me....once I get started I just keep going until it seems like a good time to pause. So that's what this is right here...a pause.  I've finished 13 garments - all tunics- with an Opium Den theme.  Unbeknownst to me, Marc Jacobs had this same idea for his 2011 Spring Collection.  Well, you know what they say about great minds.

Seriously, is there no such thing as an original idea? What with all of those creative minds hatching ideas all over the world, I kinda doubt it. I sourced some wonderful raw materials at the recent Vintage Textile show in Burbank and it was fun to come home and incorporate them into my designs. And recently a friend gave me some amazing textiles from her mother. Oh...the riches keep pouring into my life and I am grateful.

Here are a few sneak peeks at the designs...full of color, texture and Asian mystique. :)

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 12! I'll be participating in a wonderful vintage-themed show at the Helms Building in Culver City. Invite a friend and make a day of it. The area is filled with wonderful stores and restaurants. I'll get more information to you shortly!
