Why wait to make a resolution?

Yesterday I did my grocery shopping at the local health food store.  Fresh local veggies, organic dairy products, cage-free eggs...all the good stuff.  I decided that rather than wait until later, why not transition into more healthy heating right now!  I've never been one to tackle more than one personal improvement campaign at a time and since I've established a steady five times a week yoga ritual, it made sense to move toward better nutrition. It's funny how one good thing automatically leads to another.

As corny as he is, I've learned a lot watching Dr. Oz.  It seems like I always learn something interesting about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  The last show was about supplements and I realized I needed to supplement my supplements!  I've taken Calcium, Vitamin D,  antioxidants and B complex with folic acid for quite a while and decided to take his advice and add Co-Q 10, magnesium and Omega 3-6-9s to the mix.  I also decided to try gluten free breakfast cereal, unsweetened almond milk, whey protein powder and ground flaxseed.

It feels good to have a head start on a New Year's resolution!

  1. I think we are on the same wavelength! I bought a new grinder and a case of Bob's Red Mill flaxseed so we can grind it fresh on our food. I'm trying to add more fresh veggies to Alex's diet too... We can't take supplements so we have to do it through diet! Glad to see someone else is working on this!
(I found that adding 1/4 cup to my bread doughs/pizza dough does not trigger rejection from kiddo! Yay!)
