Wear. Smile. Repeat.

Hello- I'm baaaack. 😍  I've been feeling the need to do some writing and sharing. I started this blog in 2005. Whoa- 20 years ago! While I have retired from the commercial aspects of my business, I will always  make things. It's just who I am.

In case we haven't met...

I've been a self-employed designer since 1998. I started with a handmade greeting card business. The collage-style cards incorporated stitching which may explain my transition to fashion and accessories in 2001. Everything I make is one-of-a-kind. My favorite "raw" materials are salvageable preloved clothing, home textiles and vintage buttons- especially Bakelite.

I'm always on the lookout for things like silk kimonos, embroidered tablecloths, and souvenir linen tea towels. I'm drawn to natural fabrics and vintage textiles.  My original goal which continues to this day is to be a part of a sustainable approach to fashion. Sadly,  "sustainability" is now a buzz word that even companies like H&M and (newly bankrupted) Forever 21 have adopted. Don't be fooled by greenwashing!

Back in the day, my work was featured in Belle Armoire, Niche, and American Craft magazines. No current media hype to share. 😂🤗

I can be reached by email at lmsandstedtail@gmail.com.

Below are some examples of my work.
